Poverty is at an epidemic level in Honduras. In the past few years alone Honduras national poverty line has reached a height of 60% with no improvement expected anytime soon! Shocking? Due to this unfortunate situation which is gaining momentum every single day, kids of Honduras are dropping out of school at an early age to help support their families. In many cases these children fall instead into a path of crime, drugs, or worse just become a statistic. What if 60% of the youth in our nation fell into this web of drugs and crimes, because they were deprived of education? Scary thought? Join us in changing the future for Honduran kids!

  • Current Scenario

Honduras ranks 68 when it comes to access to education for low and middle-income families.

There are some schools that are subsidized until  5th grade, but kids are unable to attend school because their families cannot afford uniforms and other school supplies. We want to help with those needs as well.

Every year, thousands of children are forced to seek refuge outside the country. Crime keeps on increasing, and Honduras continues to have one of the highest homicide rates in the world. Help us achieve our goal by making a difference in even one child’s life.

We Believe That These Situations Can Be Changed

Education is the key to the future of Honduras. But with no schools available to the children, ensuring quality and adequate education is no easy feat.

    Solution

To help Honduras get through this challenge, we are raising funds so that no child misses an opportunity to learn.

With likeminded people contributing to this fund, we will build these schools. Every child, regardless of their financial status, can obtain an education. We’ll start with one classroom schools and move forward to building two classrooms.

Many children will excel through this opportunity that couldn’t exist without your help.

Estimated Costs for One and Two Classroom School

    •  A normal classroom will serve 30-40 students.
    • Every classroom will have proper furnishings, desks, bookcases, chalkboards, and drinking water facility.  The cost for one classroom school is approximately $28,000.
    • The cost for two classroom school is approximately $52,000.

Please share this campaign with all your contacts! Give the children of Honduras a chance to leave the path of crime and poverty behind. Let’s work towards a brighter future for these children!

    Future Goals

With access to quality education, Hondurans will fight their way back from poverty. We plan to create a lasting change for each community by building one school at a time.

Schools will last for over 50 years and impact the lives of more than 1500 children per classroom. As kids are enrolled in schools, adults in those families will have time for more productive work. With adults at work, there will be an increase in the workforce which will lead to an economic transformation.

Your smallest contribution will support the education of a capable child and can change the scenario of an entire region. Let’s make your legacy part of ours by joining forces in making a difference in a child’s life.
